The Project

Christmas is a wonderful time of celebration and Computureshare, an ASX listed company employing over 15,000 people across the globe, approached Cuckoo Creative to create an engaging and memorable event for its employees and families celebrating Christmas. After much investigation on suitable venues, it was decided that the Collingwood Children’s Farm would be the ideal location to hold the event, just across the road from Computershare’s headquarters. The place perfectly matched our vision of a country style fair, with activities such as farm tours, animal feeding and pony rides already available on the farm’s beautiful grounds. We teamed up with Life Be In It who provided the children with “old school” games to play like egg and spoon races, sack races, three legged races and jump rope games, while other activities included face- painting, craft workshops and a children’s band. Live entertainment was provided by Raggs, Kung Fu Panda, The Wackies and, of course, Santa himself. We engaged the Collingwood Children’s Farm Café to cater the event with delicious organic barbeque fare, some of which had been grown on the farm itself. As event producers, we know that there are some things we just cannot control – like the weather! But we are always well prepared. Heavy rain presented us with a challenge on the day, but we provided waterproof ponchos and branded umbrellas to the guests to ensure the weather had little effect on their experience.

The Interesting Bit

This project provided Cuckoo with the opportunity to demonstrate its capabilities across event management, communications and stakeholder engagement. As the ring leader, our job was to ensure all third party suppliers understood and delivered on the objectives of Computureshare – to create a memorable experience filled with celebration, enjoyment and fun!

The Results

The entire day proved to be a great success, with staff and their families enjoying a fun and unique experience.
