On The Line – LIFE Think Tank

The Client

On the Line is a non-profit organisation that is proud to deliver LIFE Communications, a National Suicide Prevention Strategy project, on behalf of the Department of Health and Ageing.

November 2014 – April 2015

The Project

On the Line engaged us to deliver a series of workshops supported by an integrated marketing and PR program to promote the events. Our job started with developing a name and visual identity for the workshops to ensure there was prominent branding and a consistent look and feel across the entire program.  We created a name and logo that complimented the LIFE Communications brand but stood out from the crowd. Next step was to develop a compelling story to promote the workshops and encourage attendance.  We created a series of personalised eDMs inviting professionals to attend the events, which proved to be a successful means of communication with high attendance at every location.  This was supported by a well-planned PR strategy that created numerous media opportunities for our client. Event production is in our blood, so bringing together eight individual events across eight different cities was just another day at the office!  We managed ticketing, venue hire, accommodation, flights, AV, live streaming, engaging keynote speakers and panel members and the myriad of other ‘behind the scenes’ requirements necessary to bring these events to life.  Our job was then to deliver a highly successful event at every location around the country and we’re proud to say we did just that.
I found this very rewarding. An amazing experience! Hobart attendee This has been an inspiring day. Lots to share within the work place. Melbourne attendee

The Interesting Bit

To successfully deliver these events for our client we needed to have skills in all the right places – delivering expertise in event management, communications, branding and PR. This is what we do best, rather than be specialists in one field, we have specialists across all fields to ensure we can deliver on our client’s objectives. For us, we also gained a great deal.  Our hearts were opened by listening to the opinions and experiences of many health professionals supporting people within our community.  The remarkable work carried out by these highly educated and trained health professionals who dedicate their lives to saving others, was a sobering experience.

The Results

The results have been overwhelming.  Participation at each event was high and the discussion on the future of suicide prevention has been ignited. The events generated media attention, with a number of interviews arranged with high profile spokespeople involved in the events.  The positive feedback received from attendees [with over half of participants completing a post event evaluation] tells us that we really hit the mark; from the information and insights presented through to facilitated audience discussion and the quality of presenters.
